Speaker and Moderator Bios:

Bikui Chen is a serial entrepreneur and seasoned venture investor, with over 20 years of experiences in technology industry in both US and China. He invested in data-driven business, including, Yunzhangfang, a leading financial software SaaScompany; Meixin, an asset management company for Chinese oversea money; JointQuant, an online quantitative trading platform; PlaySight, a sport analytics company; Join, a collaboration software company for construction and Hedone, a cosmetics brand. Bikui received MBA From MIT Sloan School of Management, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from MIT, and double majored in Physics and Electrical Engineering as an undergraduate in Tsinghua University.

Ruth Jin has extensive experience in corporate and securities laws. She regularly represents private equity firms and hedge funds for fund formation, investment management and related regulatory compliance; and represents corporations for equity/debt securities offering, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and general corporate matters. She also provides broker-dealers with regulatory compliance related legal advice. Ruth's clients range from entrepreneurs and emerging companies to Fortune 500 companies. She advises businesses through all stages of growth from start-up and capital financing right through to initial public offering and counsels on the ongoing securities law compliance and periodic reporting obligations. Ms. Jin also is an expert in not-for-profit laws. She represents schools, churches, temples and science associations for their federal and state tax exemption applications and compliance.

​Ruth has knowledge in Chinese law, Korean law and Japanese law, and is fluent in these three languages. She has a rich experience in cross-border transactions, including wealth management related transactions.

Prior to founding JIN & KOPPELL(formerly known as The Jin Law Group), she worked at the corporate law departments of such major law firms as Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and McKee Nelson LLP. Ruth was selected as Rising Star by Super Lawyer magazine, a rating company of outstanding lawyers by Thomson Reuters; selected as one of the Top Attorneys in New York by New York Times Magazine since 2014; and Top 10% Attorneys by Lawyers of Distinction in 2018. Ruth was a panelist in the 2005 American Bar Association Section of International Law Spring Meeting on international trade related issues, and was a fellow of the Institute of International Economic Law in Washington, D.C. from 2003 to 2004.

Tan is the Founder and CEO of TAN Wealth Management, a boutique independent Registered Investment Advisor focused on providing comprehensive retirement planning and wealth management to families and professionals. Tan’s industry leadership roles include serving as a former co-chair of the Ambassador Club for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and a former member of Prudential Financial’s Field Advisory Council - Financial Planning Committee. He was chosen by InvestmentNews as a member of the 2021 Class of 40 Under 40. Ms. Lin is a senior vice president and investment grade portfolio manager in the Newport Beach office and a member of PIMCO’s Americas portfolio committee. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2014, she worked in fixed income portfolio analysis at Harvard Management Company and was a FICC (fixed income, commodities and currencies) derivatives trader at UBS. She was named a Rising Star at Markets Media's 2020 Women in Finance Awards. She holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and an undergraduate degree from Peking University with a major in mathematics and a minor in economics.
